Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL):

Introduction

Kidney stone disease, also known as urolithiasis, is the third most common disease in urinary system which can result in many mental and physical problems for the patients. One possible solution to remove stones is using ESWL. By emerging these ESWL machines, a great revolutionary for Kidney stone disease was introduced. This method is widely acceptable because statistical results show that ESWL is successful 68 to 86%. Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) is considered as an effective and relatively safe treatment method and it has become the preferred tool in the urologist’s armamentarium for the treatment of kidney stones.
ESWL ward was established in June 17th, 2017 and it was transferred from Emam Reza Hospital to Razi Hospital and medical service in this ward has begun since then. The ESWL machine used in this center is one of the best and advanced available machines in our country and it has been manufactured in Germany by Dornier MedTech.

Laboratory

Introduction

Laboratory of Razi Hospital equipped by the latest technologies in the world. This unit provides diagnostic services to patients since March 2017, using advanced laboratory facilities and equipment and applying employees who are committed and have expertise.
Laboratory includes different units such as hematology, biochemistry serology, immunology, hormonology, microbiology, pathology, blood banking center. In this laboratory all stages of clinical examination are performed.Internal and external quality control assessments performed routinely in all parts of the laboratory.

Pharmacy

The hospital pharmacy has a space of more than 200 square meters in ground floor of the hospital building. It includes pharmacy management office, drug store and delivery office, consumable medical supplies office, an office for recording drugs, and a store for medicines which is standard and equipped.
This department is under the supervision of pharmacy technician who is responsible for providing, preserving, controlling the quality and quantity of medicines and distributing medicines and consumable medical supplies which is needed by hospitalized patients and he/she is also supervising the efficiency of consuming them, and also educating staffs, taking necessary actions related to medicines, requirements and consumable medical supplies.
At the present time, more than 700 types of medicines and drugs are available to meet the requirements of general treatment or special treatment and more than 400 types of medical and health supplies are available in hospital pharmacy so that all needs are met. Four medical staffs and a pharmacist are the working personnel in hospital pharmacy.
