The university professor and neurosurgeon explained that today,
laser discectomy was performed on a 46 year old woman in her lower back using a
laser device".
Dr. Kazem Qaemi added:
"this patient suffered the pain on her lower back for about a year and the
pain was radiated to her left leg".











He said that lower back
pain is one of the most common diseases that patients experience and he
continued: "according to the MRI results, in this case, the problem was on
tailbone but it did not radiate to spinal cord. Therefore, laser surgery was
the best choice".
This neurosurgeon
claimed that: "one of the advantages of this surgery is that it is
performed by local anesthesia and there is no need for general anesthesia; and
in the case of patients with cardiovascular diseases, it will be an effective
method of surgery".


He reminded that this method of surgery lasts
about 30 to 40 minutes and bleeding and infection have zero probability of
happening.


Dr. Qaemi added: "the
patient is hospitalized less than 6 or 7 hours for this surgery and then he or
she is discharged".
He reminded that laser
surgeries are performed in Tehran, Esfahan, Mashhad and Shiraz hospitals and we
are glad to announce that today, this surgery was performed in Razi Hospital in
Birjand.
The neurosurgeon said:
"I'm going to use my experiences that I've earned already by passing
courses in Germany and I want to put them into operation".
He told that the laser surgery is performed by
doctor's diagnosis and then he continued: "I had performed about 70 to 80
brain tumor surgeries in Razi Hospital in Birjand and this hospital has

Dr. Qaemi reminded that by
