Specialized Meeting on University Collaborations with the Turkish Consul General at Birjand University of Medical Sciences

In coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs representative office in Birjand, a specialized meeting was held to discuss scientific exchanges and university collaborations. The meeting was attended by the Turkish Consul General in Mashhad and the head of the university.
According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Office of the university, Dr. Mahmoud Ganjifard emphasized the importance of establishing collaborations within the framework of financial grants from the World Bank and other international financial institutions, particularly highlighting the scientific and academic background of South Khorasan province. He stated, "Birjand University of Medical Sciences, as one of the largest educational centers in the province, has a high educational yield."
Dr. Ganjifard also underscored the significance of medical collaborations through short-term training courses and the potential for cooperation between Birjand University of Medical Sciences and the Turkish government’s healthcare sector in Afghanistan.
Sinan Cembaş, the Turkish Consul General in Mashhad, also spoke at the meeting, saying, "I am interested in international academic collaborations and believe that all commercial issues stem from academic sciences. Birjand University of Medical Sciences is recognized as one of the leading centers in eastern Iran. Collaboration among medical universities in the region and around the world not only promotes scientific advancement but also serves humanity. Significant progress in the medical field globally has largely been accelerated by technology and artificial intelligence; therefore, international collaborations in this area are essential."
At the end of the meeting, participants shared their opinions and suggestions regarding scientific collaborations and academic achievements. This meeting was considered a valuable opportunity to exchange experiences and expand scientific cooperation between the two countries. There is hope that effective steps will be taken toward the advancement of medical sciences, including the signing of memorandums of understanding between the two universities.
