The Department of Laboratory Sciences is one of the oldest departments in Birjand University of Medical Sciences, which was formerly located in the faculty of medicine until2015. However,as several faculty members in the fields of immunology, microbiology and biochemistry are generally active in the faculty of medicine and also admission of students in master level courses in the department of laboratory sciences,it was transferred to the Faculty of Allied Medicine since 2016. Currently, 111 students are studying in the continuous and 26students in the non-continuous bachelor courses of laboratory sciences.
