Coronary Care Unit (CCU1):

Introduction

Intensive care includes caring patients with acute and life-threatening illnesses by skilled personnel using advanced facilities cardiac in intensive care unit, in which all caring works related to patients with different types of cardiac problems, heart attack, are provided there, such as cardiac stress test, echocardiography, angiography, angioplasty, heart surgery, implanting temopral or permanent pacemakers, placing ICD, fitting holter monitor and holter monitoring of blood pressure. Patients with primary diagnosis of heart problems and those with acute myocardial infarction are treated completely in this unit. ICC1 has 14 active beds; they are all fully equipped; some facilities include electric hospital bed, central monitoring together with all equipment needed for recording heart's rhythm and rate, measuring blood pressure and the percent of oxygen saturation (SaO2); and also this unit provides other facilities for patients such as oxygen therapy and suction.
A skilled nurse visits 3 or 4 patients in every nursing shift, and a specialist visits patients at least once a day; in case of any problems, the specialist or the on-call doctor will be informed and they will visit the patient again.

Installed Equipment in the Ward

  • Two Zoll electroshock devices

  • Portable suction device

  • Two complete sets of resuscitation trolley

  • Echocardiography device

  • Portable radiography equipment

  • Adequate number of syringe pump and infusion pump

All sub-units including echocardiography, angiography, heart surgery room and heart ICU are very close to CCU (time is not wasted while patients with serious illness are under consideration).
