With a history of more than 20 years, the general surgery Department of Imam Reza Hospital is one of the most active wards of the hospital too. With the presence of four surgeon general, this ward is able to admit patients with general trauma, appendicitis, hernia, pancreatitis, breast cancer, gallstones, thyroid disorders and… from the neighboring cities and countries.

This department has 40 beds in the general surgery ward, 6 active beds in general surgery ICU. Moreover, there are two well-equipped general surgery and one emergency general surgery operating rooms.

The four general surgery specialists working in this department are:

  • Dr. Mehdi Ghonche, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (Plastic and reconstructive surgery ward was established in October, 2016, in Emam Reza Hospital. Since then, Dr. Mehdi Ghonche is serving patients as surgeon in plastic and reconstructive surgery ward. Some of the most common surgeries done in this hospital are Treatment of facial congenital deformities such as cleft lip and palate repair, hand congenital deformities such as syndactyly, polidactilia, Treatment of long-term side effects of burns, Treatment of different types of skin cancers and soft tissue sarcoma, Treatment of traumatic injuries (caused by hitting) on maxillofacial area and hands, Covering soft tissue defects in different parts of body and also different cosmetic surgeries including rhinoplasty, mammoplasty, facial lifting, abdominoplasty, liposuction, Lipomatic or sculpture surgery services, fat injection to different parts of body)
